What if when someone became a Christian, they turned purple? How much easier would it be to tell each other apart? How much easier would it be for other people to see that you're a believer in Jesus? And more importantly, how would it affect our choices, our actions, and our habits?
The truth is that we don't turn awesome shades of purple when we become Christians. Actually, there is no outward change. You don't magically become better-looking or something like that. (even though that might be nice) The change is inside and it manifests in our actions. The bible actually says in James that, "faith without action is dead," and in 1 Peter, "let us love not only with our tongues and words, but with our deeds."
The bible tells us that what we do, and not just what we believe is a big deal. The bible, again in James, says that even the demons acknowledge that Jesus is God and the only way to heaven-and they shudder.
So, what is the point of this blog? Well, I'll tell you! Every Wednesday morning, a group of students meet at McNary High School meet and study the bible. The group is specifically focusing on how to spread the word to people that God is relevant today, that God still moves, that God is, "the way, the truth, and the life."
This blog is the physical manifestation of that study. Every week I will post a copy of the study notes from that week, as well a podcast of what the study was about that week. I will also, from time to time, post something that God is showing me in my life and in my time studying His word and praying.
Wherever you are, I pray that you keep your heart open to God's voice, so that wherever you are in the race of life, He can keep you going.
